Waste Disposal in Quality Control Department

1.0 OBJECTIVE

To lay down the procedurefor Waste disposal in quality control department.

2.0 SCOPE

This procedure is applicable for Waste disposal in quality control departmentat .

3.0 RESPONSIBILITIES

Executive/ Officer QC shall be responsible for the Waste disposal in quality control department.

Head-QC/ Designee shall be responsible for review and ensuring compliance of Standard Operating Procedure.

4.0 DISTRIBUTION

Master copy    :Quality Assurance Department

Controlled copy – 1     :Quality Control Department

5.0 PROCEDURE

5.1 Stationary or office waste:

  • All paper wasteshall be discarded in the dustbins containing trash bagsplaced in the QC.
  • Trash bags are replaced with fresh ones every day.
  • All papers shall be torn or shredded before being discarded in the bin.
  • Torn and shredded papers shall be discard in scrap area.

5.2 Raw Materials:

  • After release of raw material there maining raw material shall discard in a container mark “Waste -Raw Materials”.
  • QC officer/workmen shall transfer waste to large trash bag or large container and shall send to the ETP.
  • QC executive/designee shall record the reconcile/discard quantity in analytical worksheet by putting stamp .

5.3 In-Process  Samples / Finished Goods and Stability Samples

  • After release/completion of testing of in process / finish product and stability, stability samples the remaining in process/finish product and stability sample shall discard in a container mark “Waste -In-Process/Finished Goods”
  • All the primary and secondary packing shall discard in scarp area.
  • QC officer/workmen shall transfer waste to large trash bag or large container and shall send to the ETP.
  • QC executive/designee shall record the reconcile/discard quantity in analytical worksheet by putting stamp .

5.4 Packaging Material:

  • All printed packing materials shall be torn and shred before discard.
  • After testing and release the remaining packing material samples shall discard.

5.5 Chemicals and solutions:

  • The chemical waste shall be filled in the bucket/container labeled “‘Chemical Waste” and sent to ETP for disposal.
  •  The Hazardous materials and chemicals for disposal shall be fill in thecontainer labeled “‘Hazardous Chemical Wastes for Disposal” and transfer to the ETP

5.6 Control Samples.

  • All control samples of raw material for destruction shall disposed as per procedure .

5.7 Microbiology Waste

Microbiology waste for destruction shall disposed .
