LOD and LOQ

The limits of detection (LOD) and quantification (LOQ) are defined as the lowest concentration of the analyte that can be reliably detected and quantified, respectively. Usually the LOD and LOQ refer to the limits associated with 95% probability of obtaining a correct result

Limit of detection

The detection limit of an analytical procedure is the lowest concentration of analyte in a sample that can be detected but not necessarily quantitated as an exact value. The detection limit is usually demonstrated by measuring low concentrations of the analyte and showing that a response in obtaine.

Limit of Quantitation

The Quantitation limit of an individual analytical procedure is the lowest amount of analyte in a sample which can be quantitatively determined with suitable precision and accuracy. The quantitation limit is a parameter of quantitative assays for low levels of compounds in the sample matices, and is used particularly for the determination of impurities and /or degradation products. The Quantitation limit is usually demonstrated by measuring low concentrations of the alalyte and showing that a repeatable response is obtained.
