EQUIPMENT BREAK DOWN MAINTENANCE

  1. OBJECTIVE

             To lay down the procedure for Equipment Break Down Maintenance.

             SCOPE

This SOP is applicable in Engineering for handling of break down.

  • RESPONSIBILITY
Supervisor / Executive          : : To follow the procedure  
  • ACCOUNTABILITY

  Head Engineering                       :           System Compliance

  • PROCEDURE
    • In case of breakdown of equipment in production or any other department, the concerned supervisor / chemist should stop the operation on the equipment and should put “Under Maintenance” label on the equipment.
    • The breakdown status of the faculty equipment should be immediately communicated to the engineering department through duly filled & signed Job Order (Preventive / Break Down).
    • The engineering staff should rectify the defect or seek external help for the same by communication to the concerned external agency.
    • After rectification the engineering department should complete the Job Order (Preventive / Break Down) and concerned department should verify the job.
    • If any parts will be replaced during the breakdown. Record the same in History card.

             Trainees : Engineering- Executive & Supervisors.
