PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE OF WATER TREATMENT PLANT

  1. OBJECTIVE

         To lay down the procedure for preventive maintenance of water treatment plant.

  • SCOPE

         This SOP is applicable for preventive maintenance of water treatment plant.

  • PROCEDURE:
    • STARTING PROCEDURE:
    • Engineering/Technician/Designee shall take approval prior to perform thePreventive

          Maintenance activity of scheduled equipment from Concerned Department Head.

  • As perPreventive Maintenance schedule take the machine under maintenance and put the “Under Maintenance” of “Preventive Maintenance” board on the machine.
    • Ensure the main power supply of system shall be switch OFF. If switch ON, then switch OFF the main power supply.
    • Procedure/Checkpoints during Preventive Maintenance:
    • Check all the electrical connections and tighten the same if required.
    • Check the compressed air pressure at pressure gauge and ensure that it should be NLT 4 Kg/cm2 without any leakage.
    • Clean the panel with the help of blower or compressed air.
    • Check all pneumatic valves for proper functioning.
    • Check the motor terminal connections of all the pumps and tighten the same.
    • Check all the level sensors of the tank for their proper installation.
    • Check all the dosing and regeneration tanks for proper cleaning and clean if required.
    • Check the resin level (above middle level) in softener and top up if required.
    • Switch ON the main power supply of the machine and check the supply voltage 415±5V with the help of Multimater/clamp meter.
    • Check the current drawn by all the pump motors with the help of clamp meter.
    • Check all the dosing pumps for proper functioning.
    • Preventive Maintenance shall be done and same shall be recorded.
    • After completion of Preventive Maintenance ensure the area around the system should be cleaned properly and record the Preventive Maintenance activity in respective Equipment Log Book.
    • Remove the “Preventive Maintenance” or “Under Maintenance” Board from the system.
    • Take the trial of the water system for proper functioning and after ensuring the proper operation of system, hand over the system for routine use.
    • Frequency:
    • Monthly
    • Half Yearly.
