1.0 OBJECTIVE:
This SOP describes the procedure for cleaning & monitoring of incubators.
2.0 SCOPE:
This SOP is applicable to the procedure for cleaning & monitoring of incubators .
3.0 RESPONSIBILITY:
Microbiologist
4.0 ACCOUNTABILITY:
QC Manager.
5.0 PROCEDURE:
5.1 Temperature Monitoring of incubators :-
- Frequency: Twice in working day
- Observe the digital controller display connected to the incubator view and note down the temperature .
- Acceptance Criteria of incubators.
- BOD Incubators: 20 – 250 C : Set Temperature 22.50 C.
- Bacteriological Incubators: 30 – 350 C : Set Temperature 32.50 C.
- Incubators: 42 – 440 C : Set Temperature 430 C.
- Note: If the temperature is found to be out of limits shift all the material into standby incubator of same temperature range and inform head microbiology.
- The head shall investigate and inform future course of action to be taken.
- If holiday on withdrawn date; plates & tubes carry forward to next working days.
- Load & Withdrawn sample in incubators; maintain the record .
5.2 Cleaning procedure for incubators :-
- Frequency- Every 15 days or if required.
- Cleaned the incubators with 70% IPA.

Trainer : Manager – Quality Control
Trainees : Staff of the microbiology departments
7.0 DISTRIBUTION:
Master Copy : QA Department
Controlled Copy : Microbiology Department
Display Copy : Microbiology Department (If Required)
