by 1.0 OBJECTIVE:
This SOP describes the procedure for operation for microscope.
2.0 SCOPE:
This SOP is applicable to the procedure for operation for microscope .
3.0 RESPONSIBILITY:
Microbiologist
4.0 ACCOUNTABILITY:
QC Manager.
5.0 PROCEDURE:
- Take out the microscope from the box and check all the accessories.
- Connect the power plug to mains and switch on.
- Switch on the ON/OFF switch of the instrument provided at base of Microscope.
- The light will be illuminated and its intensity can be adjusted from low high by using the Sliding knob.
- Place the slide on the stage between the two ends provided for holding the slide in position.
- The slide can be moved by using the slide adjustment knob provided on left side of slide holding stage.
- The condenser provided at the lower side of the stage can be used to adjust the quantity of light coming from it.
- Use the coarse adjustment provided on the handle to adjust the focal length and the fine Adjustment knob to get distinct image as per individual eye sight.
- The objective lens are of 10X, 45X and 100X magnification power, so first adjust the objective of lower magnification and then after getting visible image adjust to higher Magnification. For oil immersion objective (100X) put a drop of cedar wood oil and then Observe.
- After the use clean the objective lens using xylene.
- Maintain the usage record of microscope .
5.1 Precautions
- All exposed optical surfaces should be free of dirt.
- Keep the slide clean to work with.
