To lay down a procedure for Operation & Calibration of muffle furnace.

This procedure is applicable for procedure for Operation & Calibration of muffle furnace.

- PROCEDURE:
- Operation Procedure:
- Ensure that the instrument is clean and suitable for use.
- Check the calibration status of the Temperature controller and ascertain it is ready for use.
- Switch ‘ON’ the mains and set the temperature using the digital temperature controller and adjust the temperature using adjustment knob.
- Always wear asbestos gloves to put and to remove the crucible from the furnace using the long tongs.
- Care to be taken not to touch the walls or the sensors in the walls.
- Put the crucible in the desiccators and close the desiccators.
- Calibration:
- Frequency of the calibration is annually by External laboratory.
