Specificity

Specificity is the ability to assess the analyte in the presense of components that may be expected to be present. Typically these might include impurities, degradant, matrix, etc.

Specificity may be often be expressed as the degree of basis of test result obtained by analysis of sample containing added impurities, degradation products, related chemical compounds, or placebo ingredients when compared to test results without added substance.
