To lay down the procedure for Operation of DG Set.
- SCOPE
This SOP is applicable in Engineering for Operation of DG Set (Make: Cummins,
Capacity: 200 kv).

- PROCEDURE
- Primary Checks:
- Check the water level in the Cooling tank and the fuel level in fuel storage tank.
- Ensure the level of lubricating oil level.
- Starting Procedure:
- Put the control switch of DG set in START position.
- Now observe that DG Sets runs without any load. In case the set does not start check the battery supply and rectify.
- Observe that the RPM of DG increases. Wait till the RPM reaches 1500.
- Check and ensure that the voltage is 415 ± 5 volts and frequency is between 49 and 51 Hz.
- Check and ensure that the water outlet temperatures are between 80º C to 90ºC respectively.
- Put the ACB close button LED will cross the ‘0’ position.
- Now the generator set supply is ready for feeding the main panel.
- Primary Checks:
Stopping Procedure:
First disconnect load and allow DG set to run in idle mode
Put DG set in Ideal Position and stop after 2 minutes.
Write all the parameters in the log sheet.
