Operation of Vacuum Pump

1. Objective

To lay down a procedure for operation of vacuum pump.

• Scope

This SOP is applicable in Quality Control. during filtration of solution through vacuum. .  

• Responsibility

QC Chemist / Officer     : Follow the procedure and maintain record as applicable.   

• Accountability

Head Quality Control      : System Compliance

• Procedure:  
  • Ensure that the vacuum pump is clean and ready for use.
  • Connect the three pin plug to power supply.
  • Connect the tubes properly with filtration assembly.
  • Switch ON the mains.
  • Check the pipes for any leakage before starting the filtration.
  • After completion of filtration switch OFF the mains.
  • Unplug the vacuum pump.
  • Clean the pump and nearby area if any spillage takes place.
  • If there is any problem in the equipment, inform to engineering department.
