SOP for Weighting

  1. OBJECTIVE:

To lay down a procedure for weighting.

  • SCOPE:

This procedure is applicable for procedure for weighting.

  • RESPONSIBILITY:

QC Officer/ QC Executive

  • ACCOUNTABILITY:

QC Manager.

  • PROCEDURE:
    • Ensure that the balance is cleaned before use.
    • If balance is not satisfactory cleaned, use nylon brush and clean it.
    • Before weighing ensures zero labels and if required adjust it.
    • Check the calibration status of balance before use.
    • Put the butter paper on balance pan and tare it.
    • Transfer the required materials upon butter paper by using spatulas.
    • Transfer the materials in volumetric flask, beaker or where it is required in such a way that complete materials should be transferred.
    • If slight residue are remaining upon the butter paper weigh it and subtracts from original weight

      and record it.
